We haven't tested either of these paths ourselves yet — the steps below follow xAI's official documentation. If it doesn't work, use Claude or Codex instead, or click Report a bug in admin to let us know.
Grok web / app (per the official docs)
All Grok users can use this, including the free plan. Business / Enterprise team accounts need an admin to set this up in admin first.
Turn on two-factor authentication first: when connecting this way, your website's consent page will be marked "unverified app," and you'll have to enter your two-factor code before you can click "Allow" (this is an anti-phishing safeguard). Turn it on first under Settings → Two-factor authentication in admin, then connect; on the consent page, confirm "you'll be redirected back to" shows Grok's domain (grok.com), then enter the code and click Allow.
- In admin, go to AI Access → API and copy your website's AI connection address (technically called MCP) https://your-site/mcp
- Open grok.com/connectors (or in the chat box, click "+" → Connectors → + Add connector), and choose Custom
- Paste in the address, follow the prompts to sign in to your website, and click Allow
Grok Build (command line on your computer, per the official docs)
Run this in your computer's terminal:
grok mcp add --transport http dlxai https://your-site/mcp
The first time you use it, it will open a browser automatically — sign in to your website and click Allow, and you're connected. To use a key instead, add --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" at the end (generate the key under Advanced settings in admin's AI Access → API).
